Info minister says Khan wasting money in rallies

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is wasting millions of rupees in his “useless” public rallies which could have been utilised for the welfare of IDPs.

Pervaiz said that the Punjab government and the federal government have also spent millions of rupees to provide security for PTI rallies.

In a statement, the minister strongly condemned PTI’s “politics of agitation” and alleged that the party has wasted Rs 370 million to organise public rallies.

Criticizing Khan’s politics, the minister said, “Khan is not paying any attention to IDPs migrating from North Waziristan to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the money wasted on PTI protests and rallies could have provided seven-day rations for the IDPs.”

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has voluntarily slashed the expenses of the PM House and Secretariat by 40 percent as part of an austerity drive.
