Referring to the clashes in the twin cities that ensued right before Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief’s arrival in Pakistan, Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashood remarked on Tuesday that the behaviour of the supporters of PAT depicted anarchy and not revolution.
Speaking to the journalist in the city, he said cases have been registered against workers who ransacked and damaged the Islamabad airport. “It won’t be a vindictive act but a legal act,” he added.
During the clashes, at least 120 people including 45 policemen were injured in the twin cities. The clashes had broken out between police and PAT workers early on June 23 after the supporters asked law enforcers to remove barriers blocking Airport Road near Koral Chowk and the police officials refused.
Mashhood said that worst form of torture was inflicted on the police and this behaviour was tantamount to spreading anarchy. He added that the government as well as the citizens of the country will not tolerate such behaviour.
Commenting on the standoff between the government and Qadri yesterday, the Punjab law minister said that situation became embarrassing for the entire country after the PAT chief refused to disembark the plane in Lahore.
“After Emirates approached the government with regards to the lockdown, the issue became a matter of national reputation,” he explained.
Commenting on the plane’s diversion to Lahore, Mashood said that it was not feasible to land in Islamabad. He said Qadri has to have confidence on the Constitution and law of this country and he has to confine all his political activities within the ambit of the Constitution and law, adding that they would not allow him to act against the law.
It is a pity that a self styled politician who left Pakistan to live in Canada is now willing to destroy the fragile democratic fabric of Pakistan just to fulfill his personal vendetta and horrible ego. This man is not a saint nor any scholar. He fakes all his honesty and patriotism as a man who does not care nor respect the law of the land can not be considered a normal behaving man. This man needs to be in prosecuted for all his adventures and he must be set responsible for the death of many people who foolishly believe in him and also for the material damage to infrastructure and govt employees. Pakistan is a country of selfish and egocentric people who literally want to use it for their personal benefits. This is a shame as 185 million people live a horribly underprivileged life and the morons of Religious people. fake political parties and hardliners of military have been using India or Kashmir as a pretext to destroy this nation. THIS MUST STOP NOW.
