PTI minority reps want Khan to address Aug 11 event

The non-Muslim members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lahore chapter held a meeting on Saturday to discuss the problems being faced by the minority communities of the country, with special focus on the situation in Punjab.

The meeting was hosted by PTI minority’s leader and nominated candidate for National Assembly Rufus Solomon while PTI Central Core Committee member Ahsan Rashid was the chief guest.

The meeting passed a unanimous resolution to invite PTI Chairman Imran Khan at their main event in Lahore on occasion of Minorities Day on August 11.

Solomon told the participants that all non-Muslim members and supporters of the PTI were of the opinion that the party chairman should address the important event, which they believed would help in removing misconceptions about the party regarding its stance on minorities.

The meeting was attended by a large number of the PTI supporters including Nadeem Shakir, Salamat Iqbal, Shahzad Masih, Saddique John, Professor Tariq, Asif Aqeel, Malik Jahangir and David Gill.
