CDA takes out its guns against dengue

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Directorate of Health Services has taken preventive measures to overcome dengue virus in the federal capital.

In this regard, Islamabad has been divided into five zones, F-Series falls in Zone-1, G-Series in Zone2, I-Series in Zone-3, while areas included in Zone-4 and 5 are green belts, parks, nullahs and major avenues particularly the IJ Principal Road.

CDA Member Administration Amir Ali Ahmed has directed Health Services Directorate to overcome breeding of the dengue virus, implement the municipal bylaws and directed the owners of shops, bakeries, restaurants, tyre shops to take all preventive measures against the dengue virus otherwise stern action would be taken without any discrimination.

Ahmed said that their aim was not only the elimination of dengue mosquito but to eradicate its growth completely. He said that their priority was to control the deadly virus at initial stage, adding that focus was being given to those areas of the city where the breed and growth of dengue virus is high.

According to Health Services Directorate, high growth areas of dengue virus are Sector G-6, G-7, I-9, I-10 and I-11, therefore, the process of fumigation and other preventive measures by the special teams of DHS would be ensured in these areas.

The administration member was informed that teams of DHS are taking all out-efforts to overcome the dengue virus. In this regard teams of DHS conducting fumigation and spray in slums, nullahs, parks and other high growth areas of dengue virus in the supervision of Director Health Services on daily basis.
