51 suspects including 22 Afghans arrested, cops directed to stay alerts
A Taliban commander identified as Tayyab was arrested from Tarnol near Islamabad on Saturday.
According to police sources, law enforcement agencies carried out an operation at Tarnol area and arrested the suspected Taliban commander. He was coming to Rawalpindi from Miranshah.
Police said that the arrested suspect was involved in serious criminal offences in several cities of the country. Police shifted him to an undisclosed place for investigation.
As teams of Pakistan Rangers (PR) and Islamabad Police on Saturday conducted joint search operation in Tarnol, they nabbed 51 suspects including 22 Afghans.
Following directions from Islamabad SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara, search operation was conducted in Tarnol which was participated by teams of Pakistan Rangers and Islamabad Police.
It was supervised by Saddar Muhammad Ilyas and SDPO Saddar, SDPO Ramna, all SHOs of Saddar Zone police stations and Pakistan Rangers also joined it. During this search operation, 51 suspects including 22 Afghans have been arrested who are being investigated further.
Islamabad IGP Aftab Ahmed Cheema has directed to ensure effective policing measures following which Islamabad SSP has directed to maintain high vigilance and conduct search operation in under construction buildings, hotels, inns, slum and other areas. He further directed to involve Eagle Squad, Falcon and Commandos in these efforts of alert and active policing measures so that they can approach in time in case of any problem.
