Religious scholars and political analysts on Saturday urged Pakistan Awami Tehrik chief Tahirul Qadri to avoid creating unrest in the country during operation Zarb-e- Azb in North Waziristan and follow the Constitution of Pakistan.

In a television programme, the scholars said that Dr Qadri was apparently implementing the agenda of some powers who wanted to destabilise Pakistan.

Senior Journalist Abdul Qayum Siddiqui said that the present government and Pakistan Army were making all out efforts to resolve the problems of the country as stability and peace were need of the hour. He suggested the government for negotiation with Qadri and said that a committee must be formed for this purpose. He advised to get help from other political parties as well, in this regard.

Siddiqui appreciated the steps taken by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and condemned the allegations leveled by PAT leadership against him.

Renowned religious scholar Allama Tahir Ashrafi said that Qadri was not sincere with Pakistan as he was following the agenda of Pakistan’s enemies and busy in derailing the smooth democratic system. He added that the government and Pakistan Army were on the same page and working together for eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country.

Ashrafi alleged that PAT chief was using people on emotional basis besides misusing their religious sentiments to carry out the agenda of anti-peace elements. He said that Qadri has been minting money from Pakistanis and spending it on construction of his institutions, abroad. He alleged that Qadri had a dubious character and people of the country were well aware his politics and would not support his agenda.

Ashrafi said that Qadri was responsible for the recent Lahore’s incident as his party had set up illegal barriers on the road which were a constant source of inconvenience for the general public.

He said that the people will not support Qadri as the nation had seen the drama at D-Chowk last year and now Qadri was again going to stage a puppet show.

Another religious scholar Zubair Ahmed Zaheer urged the people not to support PAT’s agenda as the country was facing a number of challenges. He said that it was the need of the hour to promote national solidarity among people of the country for resolving national issues.
