Inter- Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Riaz Husain Pirzada Friday said the government was committed to revive international sports in the country and concrete measures were being taken in this regard.
The minister stated this while addressing at “Annual Sports and Physical Education Conference” organized by the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) here. He was chief guest on the occasion.
The minister said that the government was trying its all-out efforts to project Pakistan as a sports friendly country in order to attract international sportspersons.
The minister expressed firm resolve to provide better facilities of sports to the children. “Structural changes were required at grass-root level to improve the overall standard of sports,” he said.
Pirzada said school-going children must be provided the opportunities of playing so that they could polished their talent and enhance abilities.
“All sports loving nations concert their efforts in creating avenues for young ones, so that they could do wonders in days to come,” he said adding Pakistan would regain its lost glory in the field of sports and players would bring laurels to back home.
“Measures have been taken to project Pakistan a sports friendly country,” the minister said.
Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Dr. Akhtar Nawaz also presented a shield to the chief guest.
The minister praised PSB for organizing a successful event and said that entire board deserved plaudits for its endeavor.
The Annual Sports and Physical Education conference is aimed at creating awareness among masses about importance of sports and healthy activities in life.
On the occasion, the guest speakers also educated the participants and threw light on the salutary effects of sports on life.
Notable physical educationist from the universities, colleges and schools participated in the event.
