Butt kicked, thrashed, sent to jail!

LAHORE-

A police tout, Gullu Butt, who was responsible for damaging more than 20 vehicles belonging to citizens during the police’s violent attack on Tehreek Minhajul Quran (TMQ) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers in Lahore’s Faisal Town locality, was sent on a 14-day judicial remand on the orders of the magistrate.

He was brought to the court for the second time today in police custody with tight security.

Earlier today he was beaten by lawyers and citizens when he arrived at a local court for a hearing.

The beatings led to Butt fainting and he was rushed to a hospital in a rickshaw.

During Tuesday’s clash between PAT workers and police, Butt was seen dancing around after vandalising public property in the prensence of police personnel. His ‘services’ were acknowledged by none other than Model Town Superintendent of Police Tariq Aziz, who embraced him and also patted his back.

On Thursday, the alleged PML-N worker, who was caught taking active part in the clashes against Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers, was handcuffed and beaten up outside a session court in Model Town.

The police eventually intervened and shifted Butt to an undisclosed location after he fainted and sustained injuries. Police also claimed to recover his ‘deadly weapon’ –a stick, with which he had broken windscreens of several vehicles during bloody clashed between police and PAT workers.
