The first consignment of 3,500 kilograms of Pakistani “Sindhri” mangoes has arrived in Houston, Texas where the high quality fruit is receiving a tremendous response.

Currently, the mangoes from the first consignment are being marketed at stores in Houston, Austin and Dallas.

According to the Pakistani embassy, more consignments of mangoes are expected to arrive at Houston in two weeks.

The retail price of a 2.5 kilogram mango pack is $25, which has been termed as fair, considering the superior quality of Pakistani mangoes, famous for their fragrance and sweet taste.

The US is a favored destination for mango exporters and holds a considerable demand for delicious Pakistani mangoes.

Pakistan’s Ambassador in Washington Jalil Abbas Jilani welcomed this initiative by Farm House Exports (Pvt) Limited, Karachi and Famous Foods Products, Houston in bringing Pakistani mangoes to the US, which is in line with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s policy of diversification of exports to the US market.

The ambassador encouraged other mango exporters to follow suit, and assured them of maximum facilitation by the Embassy of Pakistan and Pakistani consulates in the US.
