CDA’s Rs 34b budget coming next week

Capital Development Authority (CDA) will present its budget around Rs 34 billion for fiscal year 2014-15 in the last week of June.

According to a CDA official, the authority would start various mega projects in the city during next fiscal year. He said that CDA has allocated Rs 2 billion for the development of Park Enclave adding that authority has also allocated an amount for the development of Sector I-15.

The official said two new residential sector C-15 and C-16 would also be launched in next fiscal year.

He said that victims of Sector E-12 would get plots in I-12 and in this regard CDA has allocated the handsome amount. CDA would start the construction of signal free road from Zero Point to Koral Chowk. He said that CDA Development Working Party (CDADWP) has also approved three public welfare projects. The allocation for these projects would be made in the current CDA budget and work would start soon after the approval of the budget for the financial year 2014-15.

The projects include construction of two under passes on Faisal Avenue between Sectors G-7, G-8 and Sector F-7 and F-8, construction of CitizensFacilitationCenter in Sector G-7 and fixation of barbed wire / warning boards around CDA’s acquired land.

The construction of two underpasses on Faisal Avenue between Sectors G-7, G-8 and Sector F-7 and F-8 Islamabad was approved during CDADWP’s meeting. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 555.515 million. The completion time for the project is six months. The scheme shall be financed through CDA’s own resources.

The CDADWP also approved the construction of CitizensFacilitationCenter at Jasmine Road, Sector G-7/2, Islamabad in its meeting. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 71.195 million. The completion time for the project is six months.

The CDADWP in its meeting approved another project named “providing/ fixing barbed wire, boundary pillars, warning boards and construction of pre-cast wall around CDA’s acquired land” to save it from illegal encroachers. The project cost is Rs 333.806 million. The project will be completed in one year. The scheme shall be financed through CDA’s own resources.
