Textile policy to be announced in first week of July

The PML-N government is all set to announce textile policy for 2014-15 in first week of July this year an official of the ministry said.

Textile Industry Federal Secretary Rukhsana Shah told that the textile policy 2014-15 would be announced in first week of July with main focus on infrastructure and human resources development.

She said that other focus of the policy would be on compliance export also to be established export buying house and awareness and skilled development programme for the professionals.

The secretary textile said that awareness and skill development programmes would be started to enhance the capacity of textile manpower to meet the standard of developed countries professions.

Rukhsana Shah said the government would also establish more garments industrial units in different cities which would also help economic empowerment of women as most of them were associated with the sector. She said top priority of the government was to focus on value addition to enhance the trade volume and to earn more foreign exchange for the development and prosperity of the country.
