LAHORE-
At least eight people were killed while more than 60 others were injured in a clash between police and activists of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT); a party led by Islamic Scholar Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, private news channels reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, early on Tuesday police personnel had attempted to remove security barriers around Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat and the residence of PAT chief , who is currently in Canada.
Activists and workers belonging to PAT resisted the policemen which led to a clash. The policemen resorted to aerial firing and baton charge while they were also attacked with petrol bombs.
Straight shots were also reportedly fired by the Elite Force personnel while attempting to disperse the crowd.
Eight people, including a policeman and two woman were killed in the clash while 60 others, including 11 policemen were injured.
PAT Chief Qadri condemned the police action against his party workers saying that the government was harassing his party workers while being in fear of his arrival on June 23.
68 PAT workers were also arrested by the police officials.
Mutahidda Qaumi Movement, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League- Q condemned the police action on PAT activists and termed the incident as state terrorism.

full inquiry is required in this matter that first who use the weapons and bullets then we can blame and determine that who is responsible. but qadri sb nawaz govt is elected by people of Pakistan so you should respect the peoples given mandate and wait for next 4 years . derailing democracy is not in the interest of Pakistan. you are involving army in your political matters, which can lead towards weak and undemocratic Pakistan, so please be series if you are loyal to Pakistan and its people and dont start agitation and dont believe shujat and elahi they are hungry to rule Pakistan with help of army.
What the Hell is going on? these traitors of Pakistan and friends of Modi & India (Nawaz Sharif, Shahnaz Sharif & Family) are first killing innocent people and then paying Rs. 3,000,000/- per victim from the National Exchequer (Public Tax Money). Who has given them the right to spend wealth of Pakistan like this? They should step down and pay the relief money from their own pockets, as it is their failure. On the other hand, the so-called religious scholar Tahir ul Padri should be banned in Pakistan permanently. He should also be tried for blasphemy.
if murder cases can be register against Musharraf for taking action against the terrorists of ,lal masjid,FIR for murder of 8 innocent people should also be registered against Shabaz and Nawaz shareef…this is test case for judiciary
