Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo has directed the police personnel to wear bullet-proof jackets on duty.
He gave these directives while chairing a meeting regarding law and order at Central Police Office, said a statement on Tuesday. He said 20 muhafiz vans will be given to all zones of the city. He directed to take strict measures for the security of all important installations and public places. Thebo ordered to take effective measures to curb kidnapping for ransom, targeted killings, extortions and all other street crimes in the metropolis. Response force should be put on alert to avoid any untoward incident in all zones. The meeting was attended by zonal DIGs, DIG CIA, SSPs and other senior police officials.
