As many as four persons including two women were killed on Tuesday amid ongoing violence in the troubled port city while two prisoners escaped from the Malir Jail.
According to details, one Lyari gangster was killed in a shootout with law enforcement agencies. In Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, armed men resorted to firing resulting in the death of one woman over a land dispute. Police and Rangers reached the spot and arrested seven people after firing teargas shells.
In other incidents, body of 28-year-old Fauzia was recovered from Orangi Town while one dead body each was found from Lea Market and New Karachi areas. Meanwhile, two prisoners escaped from Malir Jail while the third was rearrested. Jail officials said two prisoners managed to flee the juvenile ward. Police have cordoned off adjoining areas to search for the prisoners.
