After the starting of operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan, it has also been decided to launch an operation in Karachi as well to get rid of criminal elements.
The intelligence agencies and other law enforcement departments will assist Rangers in the operation to be conducted in 11 areas of the city in the first phase, which include Gulistan-e-Joher, New Town, Qasba Colony and Katti Pahari, Baldia Town, Sohrab Goth, Site Town, Nazimabad, Sarjani Town and Quaidabad.
Directives have been issued to take the suspicious people into custody and monitor the activities of banned organisations in 94 places in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkar region.
Senior officials have been directed to formulate the complete data of police stations and personals appointed on intelligence duties with investigation officers of incidents of sectarian terrorism and data of workers of religious parties’ who are in majority in these areas. According to sources, activities of the workers of Banned Jash-e-Muhammad, Lashker-e-Jhangvi, Harkat-ul-Ansar, Hazib-ul-Tehrir, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Pakistan Harkat-ul-Jihhad and Lashker-e-Islam are continuing in 94 different places of Sindh and it is expected that all the workers and office-bearers of such organisations would be taken into custody.
