Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Central Information Secretary Senator Mushahidullah Khan has said that elements who were rejected in the last general elections did not pose any threat to democracy.

Talking to journalists outside the Parliament House on Saturday, he said people who were rejected in the general elections were now trying to hatch conspiracies against the democracy but their agenda will be rejected by the people again.

The senator said that Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri had no role in country’s politics anymore and he had forcefully gathered employees of Minhajul Quran to gain political mileage.

Mushahid asked Dr Qadri to carry out audit of the funds collected earlier to stage sit-in at D Chowk against the last Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s government. He said people of the country and leadership of the main political parties had rendered sacrifices for the restoration and strengthening of democracy in the country. He said that Dr Qadri and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan were close companions of former dictator Pervez Musharraf.

To a question, he said the court of the country would decide the fate of Musharraf. He expressed the hope that the government would complete its constitutional tenure.

To another question, he said that dialogue was the best way to resolve all disputes with India including Kashmir.

“War is not a solution to any dispute; dialogue is the only way to resolve all disputes being confronted by the world,” he said, adding that a peaceful solution of disputes with India will ensure peace in the whole region.
