LDA officers dismissed in plaza fire case

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Ahad Khan Cheema has imposed the major penalty of dismissal from service upon Abdul Razzaq, deputy director (engineering), on account of his failure in taking long term and short term measures to avert a fire which occurred in LDA Plaza, Egerton Road, on May 9, 2013, due to electric short-circuit.

Minor penalties of various natures have also been imposed upon another 12 officials for their failure in this regard. Penalty of withholding of one increment for a period of one year has been imposed upon Sardar Muhammad Akbar Nakia, Secretary LDA and other sponsors.

Past three years service of Ali Asghar Saeed, Deputy Director (Admn)/manager LOS and Abdul Mateen Nasir, Assistant Engineer (Civil), and past two years service of Muhammad Ijaz Khan, Maintenance Foreman and Qamar Taskeen, Electrical Supervisor, have been forfeited.

Minor penalty of withholding of two increments for a period of two years has been imposed upon Muhammad Nauman Khan, Assistant Director, Ali Raza, Assistant Engineer (EME LOS), Younis Elahi, Sub Engineer, Arshad Ali Khan, Mumtaz Ali Khan, Electrical Supervisors, Pervaiz Khawar and Jahangir, Electricians, LDA.
