ISLAMABAD-
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the Karachi airport attack in a reply to the letter of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Modi also expressed sorrow over the loss of innocent lives in the barbaric attack.
He said that he was hopeful of improvement of bilateral ties between the two countries, adding that the Indian government looks forward to work with PM Sharif.
The Indian PM also expressed his pleasure over PM Sharif’s presence at his oath taking ceremony.
“I was particularly delighted and honoured by your participation in the ceremony for the swearing in of the new government. Your presence and that of other leaders from our region not only added a special sheen to the event, but also a celebration of the strength of democracy in our region and a reflection of our collective hopes and shared destinies,” he said.
He also thanked Sharif for the sari he sent for Modi’s mother.
