Stop wooing hard-line Moodi, Mazari tells PM

PTI Information Secretary Shireen Mazari on Thursday condemned the PM’s indifference to the state of affairs in the country at this crucial time.

Instead he is continuing to woo hardliner Indian PM Moodi – the latest being a letter committing himself to furthering better relations with India. Unfortunately, she said, the PM seemed oblivious of the fact that the Moodi government has shown no positive response to his overtures.

Ironically, the PM’s letter to Moodi comes in the wake of seizure of Indian weapons in the Karachi airport attack. She added that it was evident that the PM’s sole focus was on furthering his business interests.

That was painfully obvious when he took his businessman son with him to Delhi and met with a range of business tycoons and media houses but found no time to meet the Kashmiri leaders, the PTI leader added. She pointed out that already news was coming out of New Delhi about a possible joint venture between a major Indian media house and the Sharifs.

Mazari added the Sharifs have become one of the biggest investors in the UK and while he goes around the world asking for foreign investment, he refuses to bring his own wealth back to invest in Pakistan.

“We demand he inform the nation why he and his family do not consider Pakistan a viable investment destination for their wealth? After all they are ruling Pakistan today as a family and business enterprise and the ordinary citizen is paying the price,” she concluded.
