Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said his party was not in favour of putting an end to democracy and would continue to protest against rigging in the general elections 2013.

Talking to a private news channel, the PTI chairman said his party wanted verification of votes in four constituencies but the government, which claimed to enjoy popular public mandate, was scared to provide justice. He said the PTI had never wanted suspension of democracy in the country but supported real democracy. He said true democracy could only be established with free, fair and transparent elections.

Imran said it was his party’s democratic right to protest against polls rigging. He said the protests would continue until they get justice.

The PTI chief said problems could not be resolved through military
operations. He said the country’s destiny could not be changed until the arrival of real democracy.

He said the people were fed up with the government as it has been failed to provide them relief. He said the people were deceived in the budget. He said power load shedding was crippling the country’s economy.
