Karachi Police Chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo has constituted an enquiry committee to probe the recent terrorism-bid at Karachi airport.
Led by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Karachi East Munir Ahmed Shaikh, the committee comprises, senior superintendent of Police (SSP) East Zone, SSP Malir, special investigation unit (SIU), deputy superintendent of Police (DSP) airport and station house officer (SHO) airport.
Meanwhile, Intelligence agencies conducted raids on two mobile companies in Nawabshah and arrested four people, suspected of selling mobile phone SIMs to the terrorists involved in the Karachi airport attack.
The suspects were the employees of mobile companies and have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
An FIR of the attack on Karachi’s international airport was registered against the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), under the Anti-Terrorism Act, nominating the top brass of the banned militant outfit and its spokesman Shahidullah Shahid.
Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) has also claimed responsibility for the attack, which has given a new turn to the investigation.
