FIR registered against Taliban for airport attack

A case was registered against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid and others for Sunday’s attack on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

An FIR was registered at the Airport Police Station on the complaint of the Airport Security Force (ASF).

Sections of murder, attempted murder, Anti-Terrorism Act, Explosives Act and damage to public property were included in the FIR.

The TTP had claimed responsibility for the overnight siege of the airport in which at least 37 people including 10 terrorists were killed.

According to reports, as many as 12 ASF personnel, one each of the police, Rangers and Shaheen Air International are among the deceased. The dead also include seven people who were trapped in a cold storage and were not rescued in time while 26 others were also injured in the brazen assault.
