Fazlur Rehman, chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, on Wednesday opposed the military operation against the Taliban terrorists.
Talking to reporters outside Parliament House, the cleric said peace talks between the government and Taliban were not conducted in a sincere manner.
The JUI-F chief said that people wanted peace in the country, adding that the government and Taliban were making jokes with the people in the name of peace talks.
He said that only sincere and meaningful negotiations between the government and Taliban could bring peace in the country. Fazl said that his party was a voice of people and demanded to
maintain peace in the country through sincere talks with the Taliban, adding that military operation was not a solution for resolving issues in the country.
