Search operation continues after ASF camp attack, situation under control: Tweets DG ISPR

Attackers involved in Tuesday’s fresh attack on  Airport Security Force (ASF) fled after an intense gun battle with security forces.

Security troops, including personnel from ASF, Pakistan Army, Police and Rangers are conducting a search operation in Pehelwan Goth and surrounding areas.

Flight operation at Karachi Airport, which was suspended in light of the attack on the nearby ASF camp, has been resumed.

Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced, in a tweet,  stated that three to four terrorists fired near ASF camp and ran away, adding that they did not enter the camp and no breach took place.

TUESDAY’S ATTACK ON ASF CAMP

On Tuesday, at least three terrorists fired at the the ASF camp number 2 at the ASF academy in Bitai Abad area of Pehelwan Goth.

Pehelwan Goth is reportedly a stronghold of militants belonging to banned terrorist organisation Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

Rangers arrived at the location 10 minutes following the attack and surrounded the area, followed by a batch of Pakistan Army troops.

Security around the airport and across the city was also beefed up in light of the attack .

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif issued directions to wipe out the terrorists attacking the ASF Camp.

TTP CLAIMS RESPONSIBILTY

A Twitter account which is allegedly operated by Omar Khorasani, of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Mohmand faction, claimed the responsibilty of the fresh attack of ASF camp.
