The National Assembly on Monday strongly condemned the terrorist incidents at Karachi’s airport and Taftan.
Speaking on a point of order in the NA, Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid paid tribute to the Pakistan Army soldiers and security forces personnel for their bravery in the clearing operation at Quaid-e-Azam Airport, Karachi.
He said Interior Minister Chaudry Nisar Ali Khan has gone to Karachi to get details of the incident and discuss measures with the security agencies to avoid recurrence of such incidents.
He said Nisar will give a detailed statement in the House regarding these incidents.
Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah said that it is the responsibility of the present government to provide security and protection to the life and property of the people.
He termed the incidents as national security disasters.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir said that the nation has to be determined to fight the menace of terrorism.
The minister said that the government would not compromise on its writ.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also strongly condemned the Karachi and Taftan terrorist incidents and demanded that the culprits involved in these incidents be brought to justice.
Ameer Zaman extended full support and cooperation on behalf of his party to the government to tackle the menace of terrorism.
Earlier, the NA resumed its session in Islamabad on Monday afternoon with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.
The House also offered prayers for those who were martyred in the Karachi and Taftan terrorist incidents.
