The Pakistan Television (PTV) management has referred three cases of alleged embezzlement and irreularilties against its former acting Managing Director Mustafa Kamal Qazi to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Qazi, who was reportedly a junior officer, became acting managing director after portraying himself as a senior officer in the Islamabad High Court, allegedly caused billions of rupess loss to the institution through corruption and embezzlement and promoting his favourites illegally, said a PTV press release on Saturday.
According to the press release, disciplinary action may be initiated against Qazi for misstating facts in the court for becoming acting MD. An investigation department has already started probe against Qazi.
It may be noted that incumbent PTV Managing Director Muhammad Malick has taken strict measures to root out corruption from the organization.
In this regard, audit of all departments of the PTV for the last years is already underway and those found involved in corruption, will be taken to task.
