The Mad Chef takes on summer

There are some summer camps that are meant to just keep the kids busy, and then there are those that aim to really teach them a thing or two. The Mad Chef, known for its eclectic cakes and mouth watering desserts, is all set to teach young kids how to become master chefs in their own right. The interactive classes are aimed at helping kids to learn to work in the kitchen with all of their senses.

The Mad Chef’s programme is basically going to try and use kids for a different kind of revolution, one which involves yummy treats. The camp is going to focus on not just the taste, but also the science and math involved. It’s a little like going to school and learning theory but then taking it and applying it into something practical (which is also simultaneously yummy). So while a child will be learning how much an egg should weigh, how accurately it needs to be measured, etc, he will also learn precisely why an egg is being put into a cake in the first place.

Making kids curious about the work that they do in the camp is the most important part, and it’s one rule that is followed most diligently. So the next time you’re cooking nuggets in the kitchen your child can actually come up to you and have a debate on how baked nuggets are healthier than fried nuggets, instead of just telling you that they find either equally tasty. In essence, if a child, or even an adult, gets down and dirty in the kitchen then they won’t come back with mechanical knowledge where  two spoons and four cups equal a recipe, they’ll come up with real knowledge of how ingredients have to be twisted and turned to really give one’s taste buds a good kick.

The idea behind this venture comes from Saba Sharjeal, who is the beauty and brains behind The Mad Chef. Saba believes in putting her all into her talent as a chef and hopes to transfer this passion to all of her young students. So if you have a child that’s aged four or above, head over to The Mad Chef and get them registered now. Who knows maybe there’s a mad genius waiting to take over the kitchen in your house, and you don’t even know it!
