Cross-border attack on Pakistani check posts resulted in the martyrdom of at least seven security personnel at the hands of militants on Wednesday, a private news channel reported on Thursday.
Seven troops were also reported to have been injured in the attacks.
According to military sources, militants attacked Manoazangai and Mukkaa Top check posts at the Pak-Afghan border. Crossfire between the troops and the attackers ended with two soldiers dead and four others injured.
Around Thursday afternoon, Mukka Top check post came under another attack by the militants.
Two soldiers were killed by the attackers while and four others were injured.
Four troops are also reported to be injured in an explosion in the area, adds the news report.
Retaliation by the Pakistani troops killed several of the attackers, military sources say.
Thursday’s attack is the third cross-border assault on Pakistani check posts since May 25.
The Pakistani government has condemned the unprovoked attacks fom Afghan side, according to a report by APP.
The matter was raised with the Afghan government in Kabul and with their Embassy in Islamabad, adds the report.
