Asiapak Investments Limited/J-Energy (Pvt) Limited, Pakistan and Dongfang Electric Corporation limited, China, on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for setting up a 1320 mega watt coal-fired power plant at Bin Qasim.
The proposed project including six plants of 220MWs will be jointly developed with commercial operation expected in the first quarter of 2018. The project will address the ongoing power storage in the country and will also contribute to a lowering of consumer electricity tariffs. The MoA was inked by the senior representatives of Dongfang and Asiapak at a ceremony organised in a hotel here.
