The widow of former Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Dr Imran Farooq on Thursday condemned the arrest of party chief Altaf Hussain, saying she was “very upset” with the news and hoped that the British police will not harass Hussain, a private news channel reported.

Shumaila Imran Farooq said that Altaf Hussain has always been affectionate and kind to her, adding that MQM workers wouldn’t be what they are if it wasn’t for the MQM chief. She said that she has been visiting the party’s London International Secretariat for the last three days to enquire about Hussain’s health.

She said that her children are also worried for their “grandfather”.

  1. She knows what happened to her husband and what might happen to her and family if she would not talk green for the "grandpa"
