The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) like other power distribution companies is resorting to six to nine hours of load shedding in their respective areas due to increasing electricity shortfall which has reached 3,300MW.
According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), the power shortfall in the country surged to 3,300 MW as the total generation on Thursday was recorded as 13,700 MW against the demand of 17,000 MW.
The hydel generation stood at 4,420MW, Wapda Thermal 2,340MW, Wind 55MW and independent power producers (IPPs) 6,940MW.
