Residents of 200 dilapidated buildings get vacation notices

Over 200 dilapidated buildings in RawalTown particularly near Nullah Lai have been declared dangerous and the residents of these buildings have been issued vacation notices.

RawalTown administration has declared over 200 buildings as extremely dangerous and unsafe, to be used as living purpose and the dwellers have been issued notices to vacate their places at the earliest.

Rawal Town Officer Regulation Malik Toseef said that the buildings in various areas of Rawalpindi are in dilapidated condition, posing life danger to the occupants that is why the residents have been issued vacation notices.

Earlier, he said, Rawal Town Municipal Administration ordered a survey to know the actual number of dangerous residential and commercial buildings in its jurisdiction and a report in this regard was prepared.

The survey on the special instructions of AdministratorRawalTown was started.

The administrator had ordered the authorities concerned to identify buildings with weak foundations or poor architecture before the monsoon season as such buildings might collapse due to heavy rainfall, and become dangerous for the residents.
