Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday attended the Senate’s session for the first time after assuming office in May, 2013.

Prime Minister Sharif praised the role being played by the Upper House in making legislations.

“We were missing each other quite a lot. I have come here to cheer up the opposition members,” he said, and pledged that he would regularly attend the Senate sessions.

Opposition member Senator Aitzaz Ahsan welcomed the prime minister in the Senate.
