Security in city was put on high alert following the Fateh Jang Road suicide bombing in which two army officers and three civilians embraced martyrdom on Wednesday.
According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesman, security was put on alert in the city on the directives of the city police officer.
He informed that police with Rapid Response Force and Elite Force personnel initiated search operation in different areas. Strict checking of vehicles is also being made at all entry and exit points of the city, he said.
