A little shock for former LESCO chief!

*Arshad, Mehboob Ali handed over to FIA on a four-day physical remand

A judicial magistrate on Tuesday handed over former Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Chief Executive Officer Arshad Rafique and Operations General Manager Mehboob Ali, involved in corruption and abuse of power, to Federal Investigation Agency on a four-day physical remand.

Earlier, FIA produced both accused before Judicial Magistrate Mazhar

Hussain Ramay. FIA Additional Director Javed Hussain and counsel told the court that the accused were involved in corruption and supplied electricity to 28 textile units on May 27, without following the load shedding plan.

They pleaded the court to grant 14 day physical remand to investigate the matter and others scams.

To a court query, the FIA counsel also presented the relevant record.

However, the accused denied the charges and said that they were not given a copy of the FIR.

The court directed the FIA to provide a copy of the FIR to the accused and handed them over to the FIA on four-day physical remand. The court directed the FIA officials to produce the accused again on June 7.
