Govt allocates Rs 11b for Finance Division

The government has allocated Rs 11.061 billion for different ongoing and new projects in the Finance Division under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

According to budgetary documents released on Tuesday, Rs 8.752 billion have been earmarked for 41 ongoing projects whereas Rs 2.31 billion have been allocated for four new projects.

Among the projects, Rs 1.2 billion was allocated for two power plants (50 megawatt each) from syngas (IGCC-2009) Tharparkar, whereas Rs 200 million have been allocated for automation project of CDNS (phase-II) Islamabad.

Of total allocation, Rs 100 million have been earmarked for burns and trauma centre in Peshawar while Rs 40 million were reserved for Bridge Qamaruddin/Surkach, Balochistan (Zhob).

Similarly Rs 1955.416 million have been set aside for construction of Sibi-Rakhni Road via Maiwand (Tall-Kohlu) section and Rs 150 million, Rs 100 million, Rs 80 million and Rs 50 million for capacity building of Teachers Training Institutions and Training of Elementary Schools Teachers in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan respectively.

Rs 225 million have been allocated for construction of Black Top Road in District Mastung, Bolan and Quetta whereas Rs 50 million have been earmarked for construction and improvement of roads in Hyderabad District and Rs 3 million for construction and improvement of various roads in Taluka Hyderabad District.

Meanwhile for construction of flyover at Sariab Phatak, Quetta, Rs 300 million have been set aside while for construction of fish landing jetty and allied harbour facilities at Surbandar, East Bay Gwadar, an amount of Rs 152 million have been earmarked.

Rs 134 million have been allocated for construction of fish landing jetty and allied harbour facilities at Pishukan, East Bay Gwadar and Rs 100 million have been allocated for construction of eastern and expansion of southern sewerage treatment plants (Hyderabad Package).

Similarly, Rs 1387.255 million have been allocated for improvement of financial reporting and auditing (Phase-II) Islamabad, while Rs 191 million were allocated for Tubli-Badini Road.

Rs 200 million for Benazir Bhutto Mother and Child Health Care Centre, Nawabshah, whereas for Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project Rs 200 million have been earmarked.

Rs 600 million have been allocated for Gwadar Development Authority while Rs 200 million for Greater Karachi Sewerage Plant, Rs 88.221 million for widening and carpeting of Booni-Buzand Torkhow Road Chitral and Rs 77.92 million have been allocated for water supply and drainage scheme of Tando Jam.

Among new schemes, Rs 2,000 million have been allocated for the Shahi Bagh Heritage Theme Park Phase-I Lahore whereas Rs 200 million have been allocated for Greater Karachi Water Supply Scheme.

Similarly Rs 100 million have been earmarked for construction and upgrading of Dirgi Shabozai (N-70) and Rs 10 million for capacity building, MIS Development Institutional Strengthening of Pakistan Mint, Lahore.
