Kashmir’s grand mufti denies saying Kashmir is ‘crown of India’

The spokesperson of Kashmir’s Islamic court Monday refuted a statement attributed to “Grand Mufti” of Kashmir referring Kashmir as crown of India.

In a statement to CNS, the spokesperson said that the Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir has already made it clear that Kashmir been occupied by India illegally and it is in no way an integral part of India.

“Some Indian agencies are trying to create confusion and are also trying to malign the image of the Grand Mufti. Grand Mufti like every Kashmiri believes that Kashmir is not an integral part of India and India is trying to abrogate Article 370 with an intention to change its demography,” the spokesperson said, adding that India as an aggressor in this region is involved in killing, raping and torturing of innocent Kashmiris.

He said that Kashmiris deserve their right of self-determination as guaranteed by the UN resolution as well as justice for our brethren who have suffered due to atrocities and heinous crimes committed by Indian occupational forces.
