Still living in 1860s

I am a frequent traveller abroad and there I have visited many historical places. I am going abroad again and as a requirement I have to get polio vaccination drops from Town Hall which is also a historical building that I never visited before. I was very happy because wanted to visit our Town Hall but I was really shocked to see that the building only had an impressive outlook but had inhabitants in poor state.

Inside Town Hall, walls and roofs looked like ruins of Harappa. There was no waste bin and trash was packed in plastic bags or thrown on the floor. Everything was in disorder.

Polio vaccination staff was very efficient and cooperative but it was sans latest computer facilities. There was only one entry book in which staff was entering names without verigying the identity of the visitors. When I asked why can’t you shift on to latest computer-based data entry system? “How can we? It’s our government’s responsibility to provide us latest technology.”

In Pakistan, we are launching mega projects of roads, Metro bus and Metro trains, but inside the walls, our living style, our mentality, our modus operandi, our thoughts are same as they were in 1860.
