Federal Defence, Water and Power Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government is committed to coping with the energy crisis and it will allocate huge funds for it during the next fiscal year.
Talking to APP here Sunday, he said, “We are mobilizing all resources and channels for generating maximum energy and to get rid of load shedding at the earliest. By virtue of effective policies of the government the duration of load shedding has been reduced as compared to the last year while the industrial wheel in full motion.”
The minister said the government would fulfill its promises on energy because Pakistan’s energy security was the priority of the PML-N government. “We are already working on a strategy to overcome the energy crisis and long, medium and short-term power generation plans were initiated in the country and the private sector will encouraged under the programme. The Sahiwal and Nandipur power projects are part of the strategy,” he added.
Khawaja Asif said the PML-N government was making adequate efforts for strengthening and stabilizing the industrial sector because the industrial sector was the backbone of the national economy as well as providing employment opportunities to thousands of workers across the country.
