Unknown accused killed four of a family including a cop, his wife and two children in the wee hours of Sunday.
Police said the incident took place in Gulshan-e-Mazdoor, BaldiaTown area, where unidentified culprits barged into the house of a policeman namely Ramzan.
The accused shot dead Ramzan, and strangled his wife and two children. The head of the family Ramzan was an active duty cop in Sindh Police’s Rapid Response Force. Investigators said given the circumstantial evidence, unknown killers, who could be more than two, shot Ramzan dead as soon as he opened the door to the main entrance of his house. They also speculated that there was a high likelihood that the attackers were known to the deceased cop; otherwise he would not have welcomed them.
“After dragging his body inside, the assailants went after his family. It appears that they forced the three to the second floor of the house and then throttled them all”, the police said.
The bodies were moved to a hospital for autopsies and other medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the unidentified murders and police was investigating the incident from different angles.
