Light rain accompanied by strong winds lashed Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Murree and adjoining areas twice on Saturday making the weather pleasant.
The first showers came at around 3pm in Islamabad accompanied by strong winds and then the sky cleared. However dark clouds again covered the sky at 5:30pm and some parts of the capital and Murree and Abbottabad received showers that were accompanied by strong westerly winds.
Reports of light rain have also come in from Cherat, Pattan, Rawlakot, Dir, Peshawar, Bannu, Parachinar, Chitral, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot and Gujranwala.
According to the Pakistan Metrological Department, a seasonal low lies over Balochistan and a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country that is likely to persist during the next 24 to 36 hours.
As a result scattered dust-storm/gusty winds with rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur divisions in Punjab and Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat and DI Khan divisions in KP.
