A van carrying bundles of the Daily Jang and The News was attacked near Committee Chowk on Friday morning.
As many as eight to 10 armed men attacked the van and set it on fire after dousing it with petrol. The van was travelling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad. The driver of the van remained unhurt in the attack.
According to sources, over 7,000 copies of the newspapers were burnt resulting in losses in the hundreds of thousands.
In a similar attack, unidentified bike riders set a vehicle carrying bundles of the Daily Jang and The News on fire in Lahore on Sunday.
