- Rangers arrest five terror suspects, seize weapons
At least seven people, including a doctor and a policeman, were killed in separate incidents on Friday.
In Nazimabad, gunmen opened fire on a car near Gol Market killing the driver on the spot. The deceased was identified as Syed Farhan Ali Shah. He was a private school’s principal.
Police said it could be a sectarian killing. The body was moved to AbbasiShaheedHospital for an autopsy. According to hospital sources, the victim was shot four times.
A doctor named, Hasan Ali, was shot dead in Hussainabad.
Shots also rang out in Manghopir where two men were gunned down.
A man was also reported to have been shot dead in Napier area.
Earlier in the day a man lost life to gun violence in LyariTown.
Adil, 40, succumbed to gunshot wounds in North Nazimabad. According to police, he came under attack outside ZiauddinHospital.
In Mauripur, a woman was killed near Purana Truck Adda.
No arrests were made in any of the above reported cases. Police said they are investigating the incidents.
Meanwhile, during a targeted operation in Northern Bypass area, Rangers arrested five terror suspects and recovered fire arms from them.
According to Rangers spokesman, the arrested suspected belong to banned outfits.
A member of gang-war, Jalil alia Bullet, was also killed in an encounter with police in Lyari are, while his accomplices managed to run away.
