Students celebrate Rukn-e-Alam’s anniversary

Students from various educational institutions on Thursday participated in Naat competition at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) to mark the anniversary celebrations of great Sufi Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam.

The event was organized by Children Art Workshop of PNCA, in which students from twelve educational institutions participated and paid tributes to great sufi’s services for spreading Islam in the region.

National Heritage Ministry Deputy Secretary Muhammad Nazir was the chief guest.

While speaking to the students at the occasion chief guest said, “success lies in adaptation of Islamic way of life. Peace can only be attained by following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”

“We should make our youth as model for the rest of the world. Naat khawani reflects sentiments of a true Muslim,” he added.

The competitors were divided in two categories i.e. 6 – 17 years and 18 – 23 years. They were awarded cups. In 1st category (6-17) Usaid Alam of Jinnah Preparatory School, Salman Ali Agha of IMCB G-6/2, Hafiza Shaheena from IMCG, G-7/1 and Fatima Naseer from Bahria College, E-8 secured 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prizes respectively. While, in 2nd category Kashif Hussain from Arid Agriculture University, Shiraz Ahmed of Bahria University E-8, Sadia Kaneez from Arid Agriculture University and Tayyeba Mushtaq from Fatima Jinnah Women University won 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
