MQM unhappy with Rangers over arrests

Rattled over assassinations of party activists, the coordination committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) voiced concerns over the arrest of party workers at the hands of the Rangers from different areas of the metropolis.

The committee demanded Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad to ensure the safety of the arrested workers pleading to immediately release them in case they have no cases against them.

In a statement issued, the MQM’s central decision-making body said the party’s workers including Sohail, Wajahat, Adnan Zaidi, Fahad Iftikhar, Khurram Rasheed and sympathiser Umar hailing from unit-180 of Nazimabad and Gulbahar Sector, have been rounded up from their areas. Besides, a worker of Landhi sector unit-86, Muhammed Nadeem, has been apprehended.
