Many swimming pools of the metropolis may go dry for this summer season as Sindh Health Minister Dr Saghir Ahmed ordered closure of all such water pools which could be a potential cause of Naeglaria Fowleri disease.
He was presiding a meeting on Thursday that was held to review recommendations of the committee constituted to suggest steps for protection from Naegleria. Dr Saghir said in hot weather poorly chlorinated swimming pools were main cause of naegleria fowleri disease therefore all such pools be closed for next 3 to 4 months as preventive measure. The brain eating amoeba had already claimed life of a 39 year old person, who went to a farm house for picnic and got infected by naegleria foweleri there, he told.
He further directed to collect water samples from different areas of the metropolis to check level of chlorine in it. The minister also stressed to immediately start fumigation against mosquitoes so that Dengue could be controlled before its spread.
Excellent & pro-active measures! Commendable!
There are other reasons for a renovation though — perhaps you just want to breathe new life into your existing swimming pool and a renovation project can do just that.
