Cop among six shot dead

Six people, including a policeman, were killed and four others injured in separate firing incidents across the city on Wednesday.

Three persons were shot dead near the iconic Cheel Chowk landmark in Lyari area of the provincial capital. After the incident, law enforcement agencies were deployed to the area.

According to police, a man named Shahid Shah was injured when unknown gunmen opened fire near matric board office in Nazimabad Wednesday morning. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries on his way. Deceased Shahid Shah was a police constable, sources told.

Another incident of firing took place in Mominabad area of Orangi Town where a man was killed. A man who was on his way in a car was also injured when unidentified attackers opened fire in North Karachi area.

A man who was injured in a firing incident on Tuesday in Liaquatabad C-1 area succumbed to his wounds on Wednesday. It may be mentioned here that four persons had sustained injuries in the firing incident that took place.
