Police round up 62 accused

Police under its ongoing drive against anti-social elements arrested 62 accused persons including four gamblers during last two days.

Police also recovered over 12 kilograms charras, 245 grams heroin, 66 bottles of liquor, 45 liter wine, 21 pistols 30 bore with 137 rounds, one carbean with 11 rounds and one Kalashnikov with 430 rounds from their possession.

According to Rawalpindi police, Rattaamral police held accused Ansar for having 345 grams charras. Pirwadhai police netted accused Riasat with 500 grams charras.

Bunni police arrested accused Rashid for carrying 515 grams charras. Sadiqabad police recovered 1240 grams charras from the custody of accused Kashif.

Another accused namely Kamaran was sent behind the bars on recovery of 1100 grams charras. Sadiqabad police apprehended accused Abdul Malik with 1250 grams charras and Kashif with 1200 grams charras. New Town police recovered 1115 grams charras from accused Muhammad Ali.

Rattaamral police rounded up Asif for having 10 bottles of liquor. Pirwadhai police nabbed accused Waheed for possessing 10 bottles of liquor.

Other accused were sent behind the bars for having illegal weapons, drugs, liquor, wine and fireworks items.

Meanwhile, Pirwadhai police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in Awan colony area and held four gamblers namely accused Junaid, Rashid, Hashim and Safaqat.

Police also recovered cash Rs 3150 stake money, four mobile phones and other items from them.

TWO PERSONS ON VIOLATION OF RELEVANT LAWS:

Police Sunday arrested two persons for use of firecrackers at a marriage ceremony and a case has also been registered against them on violation of relevant laws.

Pirwadhai police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid at a marriage ceremony and arrested accused Zameen Khan and Kaleem who was allegedly involved in display of fireworks.

Police also recovered fireworks items from their possession.
