Modi swears in as India’s 15th PM

NEW DELHI-

Narendra Modi was sworn in as India’s prime minister on Monday, after a historic election victory that gave his party the first parliamentary majority in 30 years and ended two terms of rule by the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty.

Dressed in a white full sleeve kurta, a beige waistcoat and a white pajama, Modi arrived at Rashtrapati Bhawan for the event around 6pm.

According to Indian media reports, a total of 44 ministers excluding Modi will take oath of secrecy.
