Pakistan’s all-rounder Shahid Afridi on Sunday categorically rejected the reports issued in a UK newspaper which had alleged that a bookmaker had approached the cricketer during the green-shirts’ tour of Britain in 2012.
Afridi said that he was not approached by any one to rig the One Day Internationals between the England and Pakistan.
A report in the British tabloid newspaper, the Dailymail, had alleged that Pakistani cricketers Shahid Afrisi and Umar Akmal turned down proposals to rig the series between the two countries, which was won 4-0 by England, after they were approached by match-fixers on separate occasions.
